Assam Police Seize Fake Currency, 4 Arrested, includes Couple from Nagaland.
Four individuals, including a couple from Nagaland, have been apprehended by Assam Police for the possession of counterfeit Indian currency notes in Nagaon district.
Acting on a credible tip-off, the police executed a raid in Simaluguri village, situated under the jurisdiction of Kachua police station in Nagaon district on a Saturday.
During the operation, law enforcement authorities confiscated a counterfeit currency printing machine and fake Indian currency notes with an estimated value of Rs 10 lakh from the possession of the four suspects.
Preliminary findings from the investigation indicate that the detained individuals were part of a larger network engaged in the production and distribution of counterfeit currency within the region.
Currently, the police are actively pursuing leads to trace the origin of the fake currency and identify other associates connected to the criminal organization.
The detention of these four suspects represents a significant achievement for Assam Police in their ongoing battle against counterfeit currency.
